Kenny Wellwood (Zig Drywall)
Kenny Wellwood had a huge week, going 8-for-10 with 5 singles, 2 doubles, and a triple. He also added 4 RBIs, 4 runs, 3 walks, 2 hit-by-pitches, and 2 stolen bases. On the mound, Wellwood threw 4 innings, allowing just 1 hit and 0 earned runs, while striking out 5 to earn the win.
Max Mireau (Genesis Contracting Hickman Post 105)
Max Mireau had a standout weekend, going 4-for-7 at the plate with a home run, double, triple, and 7 RBIs. He also drew 4 walks, showing great plate discipline. His biggest highlight was a grand slam at Duncan Field in Hastings, making him only the 5th Junior Legion player to ever hit a home run there. Mireau's grand slam was the 187th home run at Duncan Field since it opened in 1940, and the 10th grand slam by an American Legion player.
